It's so great to see the season underway and all 1,481 members playing. 2024 has seen another increase in membership, here is a snap shot of the number of teams we have,
Thank you to those volunteers who have stepped forward to help us out or have just seen something you can contribute towards. We are truly grateful for all the volunteers help we can get, after all, without it this club simply would not operate. You're kindness does not go unnoticed. If you're wanting to help out but don't know where to start flick us a message on FB or Instagram or email office@northernroversfc.org.nz and we'll steer you in the right direction. To all spectators at Becroft on a Saturday morning for First Kicks and Junior games, we thank you for you co-operation to stay off the main fields when watching games. If you could please help us direct visiting teams and any remaining spectators to watch from outside the lines for the full fields, it is much appreciated. Having 50 sets of feet standing on the sidelines multiplied by 3 games per field will soon wear down the grass, resulting in field closures as we get into the winter months. The more we can prevent now the longer our fields will remain open and nice to play on. Kings Birthday weekend, Friday 31 May, Saturday 1 June and Sunday 2 June, there is no First Kicks, Junior and Youth football. The only grades playing are Men's and Women's Premier & Senior community knockout cup games. Matariki weekend Friday 28th, Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June, all grades play. Tommy Guns Fundraiser As we strive to ensure our equipment, gear and facilities are kept as up-to-date as possible with the best you all deserve, we can't do that without you, our sponsors and volunteers. Our great mates at Tommy Guns the Original Barbershop and official barbershop to Northern Rovers FC, have come up with an excellent fundraiser. Simply sell 5 haircuts, and you'll receive a free personalised limited edition NRFC/Tommy Guns hoodie or jacket and the club will receive $100 towards the purchase of improvements to gear and facilities. Its a busy weekend this weekend at home, headlined by both our Men's and Women's First Teams. The men welcome Hibiscus Coast on Saturday afternoon at 3pm and the Women welcome FC Tauranga Moana on Sunday afternoon at 1pm. Add in community football and the Go Logistics Youth NRFL boys on Sunday at home and the carpark will be one of the hottest pieces of real estate on the shore! |
