Junior Football, Competitive Pathway starts 10 February

At Northern Rovers FC, our Junior football philosophy emphasises the importance of nurturing a lifelong love for the game while providing pathways for both social and competitive player development. Pre-season ID sessions start next week for boys and girls.

📆 Monday 10 February & Friday 14 February next week (running through February on Mon & Fri)

📍 Becroft Park

⏰ G9 & 10 (born 2015 & 2016) - 4.15-5.15pm

⏰ G11 & 12 (born 2013 & 2014) - 5.30-6.60pm

We strive to create an inclusive, supportive environment where every player can enjoy the game of football, develop their skills, and reach their full potential—whether playing for fun or aspiring to compete at the highest levels.

Players are asked to select a social or competitive pathway via our registration form (https://www.sporty.co.nz/viewform/337046) process and during February ID sessions teams are formed. Social teams are typically coached by parent volunteers for a mid-week training and Saturday game day. Competitive Teams are coached by one of our qualified coaches or a parent who has played the game or professional sport to a high level.

Players choosing the competitive pathway must attend our Pre-Academy (PAC) sessions twice a week which is inclusive in your fee when selecting the competitive pathway in your registration. Flexibility for payment is offered with a discounted upfront payment or a per term payment option is available. For Social players who would like to access this level of coaching once a week please select the per term PAC fee in your registration.

If you are not sure which pathway to choose come to any of the first 4 sessions to have a go and talk to us about the options.
