Rovers Skill Centre

Quality coaching for every junior footballer, from first touches to Talent Pathway.

Rovers Skill Centre is Northern Rovers FC's skill development programme for players aged U8 to U13. It runs during the school term, with structured sessions designed to build technique, confidence and a love of the game.

Sessions are open to all players, whether or not they're registered with Northern Rovers.

One programme, two goals

Led by Skill Centre Manager Ben Ruffell, Rovers Skill Centre is built around two goals:

  • Elevating our Talent Pathway. A structured, technically rigorous programme that prepares ambitious players for our Youth Talent Development Programme and beyond.
  • Inspiring all abilities. Quality coaching for every junior player, social and competitive alike, so they can become the best version of themselves.

How it works

  • When: each school term, with two sessions a week

  • Where: Becroft Park

  • Format: players train in groups matched to their age and the format they play on Saturday

  • Coaching: sessions are planned and overseen by the Skill Centre Manager and delivered by qualified club coaches
